Foolproof Brewery Tour
For our anniversary back in March, T surprised me with a tour at the Foolproof Brewery in Pawtucket , RI which has been on my to-do list since we moved here. Most of the brewery tours or tastings we've been to before don't require a reservation and only cost a few dollars. Foolproof does it a little differently by charging $10.00 and requiring you to pay that price for a specific tour time and date. It's actually a great system for them because they only offer tours a couple days a week so the tours are full.
With the price of the tour and reservation, patrons are given three beer caps at check in at the bar. Each time patrons want to try one of the beers on tap, they turn in a bottle cap to the bartender and get at least half a pint glass full in return. The glass is also for keeps. This system ensures that before the tour starts everyone has at least a pleasant buzz. Bring a DD if you're a lightweight,
The brewers were funny and clearly loved what they do. We drink Foolproof beer regularly but it's awesome to see and hear about its roots. Also, we are more prone to buy it now than we were before we toured the brewery because those are good dudes. I would go back again if we had company visiting. Great trip for a Saturday afternoon. Great beer.
