The Grange

When one of my friends from childhood comes to town, its important to show off my new city but I don't want to get bored going to the same places all the time. I recently took a trip to The Grange with one such friend. We went to this self-proclaimed "vegetable restaurant" for drinks, apps, and dinner. The cocktails were chic, delicious, and the bartenders knowledgable. The apps were just outside the box, making me feel adventurous for trying out something new. The meals were hearty, flavorful, and I didn't even miss the meat.

My suggestions for drinks? Have a cocktail off the drink menu or simply ask the bartender to whip something up and hint as to what kind of concoctions you like. You won't be disappointed by their creativity. If there was ever a place where this act of winging it was acceptable and rewarding, its at The Grange.

My suggestions for apps? The deviled eggs are dreamy. These are not the deviled eggs your Grandmother used to make for holiday brunch. These are spicy, crispy, and refined. Next get the poutine. If you are not someone familiar with this Canadian plate of french fries smothered in gravy, cheese curds, and fresh cut herbs....get familiar. Sober or buzzed, these bad boys hit a number of cravings.

My suggestions for dinner? Korean BBQ Tacos made with seitan (you wont even notice) and smothered in house bbq sauce. If you can't quite go there, try the Po' Boy.
