Lincoln Woods

I'm on Summer vacation and today was the first day I had all to myself with nothing on my schedule. I woke up bright and early to run before the sun came up. Then Edison joined me for breakfast on the couch in front of the Today show. I picked up a pay-check at my second job, cha-ching, and then hit a Vinyasa class before lunch. I felt like Ed probably deserved to get out of the house since he never gets to go on adventures during the week. He and I discussed and decided to make a few calls. Turns out Lincoln Woods State Park allows dogs and it's free to enter the park!

We drove up and the teenager in the booth let me know that I could park wherever I wanted and hop onto any number of trails as long as the dog stayed leashed. No problem! The trails were wooded and there were enough so that it felt like a "choose your own adventure" book. We went down an out-and-back trail to a point in the reservoir. There were plenty of people bbqing, swimming, paddle boarding, and enjoying the beach on the other side of the water. I wish I had worn my bathing suit so that I could've jumped in. Next time.

Edison was dog tired when we were done. I can't wait to go back with T some time so that we can go swimming.
