T and I had enjoyed New Years Eve in Cambridge last year so much that we decided to go for round two. Of course eventually when we are rich and famous (joking) I'd like to be able to do something extravagant and go somewhere full of glitter and amazing music and fancy cocktails. We're not quite there yet. So our plans the last couple of years for NYE have had to fit certain criteria.
1. Friends: We've had some romantic solo years but when we really want to celebrate, being with people we adore is the way to go.

2. Delicious food: because we like to eat. Duh.
3. Bevies: If there isn't going to be good beer there, we'll bring our own. I also require at least one glass of champagne.

Cheers to 2014 |

Pop the champagne! |
4. Sparkle: my ideal NYE dress would be straight up metallic sequins but since I'm saving that look for when I'm rich and famous, I usually settle for something a little more subtle.

My sparkle is hiding. |
Last year and this year hit all of our criteria out of the park. This year we were with friends new and old, ate copious amounts of appetizers, drank a wide variety of craft beer and a glass or two of champagne, and naturally I wore a slightly sequined top. To cap it off we ended up at somewhat of a dive bar in Cambridge called
Courtside which had two sections. The karaoke area was packed to the gills so we got into the mellow half where we could watch the ball drop and drink cheap pitchers for the last hour of 2013. Here's to more New England adventures and exciting domestic endeavors in 2014.
